Review Of Osim Bench Frame I-Symphonic Massage Chair | New ...

New Health And Fitness.Org - Health Information You Can Use

Many of you have visited Brookstone and perhaps tried one of the massage chairs. One of the brands that they feature is Osim. They are a large distribution company located in Singapore. They are known for branding chairs manufactured by others under their name. One of the chairs that they sell to Brookstone is iSymphonic massage chair which will be reviewed in the following paragraphs.

The world of massage chairs can sometimes be confusing with a number of different brands and manufacturers. Though some are not actually a manufacturer but are a distributor. They use a third-party to make their chairs and then they market and brand them.

This recliner is equipped with infrared sensors. The sensors are used to measure the dimensions of your body to provide a custom massage. The massage rollers will adjust themselves based on the readings of your body.

This model also has an integrated music therapy system. The music therapy system is a little bit more than just listening to your favorite music. The massage is synchronized to and orchestrated by the music that is being played.

The synchronized music works by automatically altering the intensity of the rollers and altering the type of massage mode in response to the music. The mechanical rollers in the back respond to the bass sounds. Whereas, the leg vibration motors respond to the midrange frequencies.

You?ll find that the Osim iSymphonic comes with 5 Healthcare programs. These are automatic programs which can be initiated with a single button. The remote control allows you to select each individual automatic program. Each of these has a different theme.

You have complete control over your massage. Each of the automatic massages last 15 minutes in duration. These are timed massages and the counter will count down when complete.

It is always nice to have a powered recline. Just choose the feature on the easy-to-use remote and you are powered backwards. Find the angle that is comfortable for you and then stop.

A great way to massage your lower body is with the compression massage system. An air pump directs pressurized air into airbags. The airbags squeeze the larger muscles of the body providing relief.

I am a big fan of music therapy. Music helps you to relax. It is a good way to distract your mind from its troubles. Most massage therapist use soft rhythmic music to provide for their treatments. This massage chair comes with a good music therapy.

The Osim iSymphonic massage chair is worth considering as a contender for your attention in its price range. It may not have all of the sophisticated technology contained in chairs like Panasonic or Sanyo but it does an admirable job.

My back and shoulders get very stiff which requires deeper tissue massage. I like a good strong massage chair which will penetrate through the muscle tissue. I did not get the same penetration with the Osim iSymphonic massage chair. It seemed a little weak and superficial for my taste.

If you?re out shopping for a massage chair, then one of the easiest ones to try is Osim iSymphonic at Brookstone. This is a good chair but not the best on the market. They have locked in a great distribution channel but do not produce the best chairs on the market. Those are my thoughts on the Osim iSymphonic massage chair.

Browse through expert reviews of Osim Massage Chairs and every important manufacturer. The quickest method to get up to speed about massage chairs is by reading expert opinions. Our experts review every brand. Find other Osim Massage Chair Reviews and find the right recliner for your needs. Research principal manufacturers including Panasonic, Sanyo and Omega.

Police: Single dad pimps out adopted son ? Don Surber

Certainly this is more gist for the mill of those who oppose single adoptions and those who oppose gay adoptions and those who oppose both. Police in the Dayton, Ohio, area accuse a gay adoptive father of pimping out his adopted son. Somehow this gay single father had acquired three children and was adopting a fourth child who lived with him. I have no idea why we are allowing single adoptions.

Additionally, he is accused of raping his two adopted sons and the boy he was adopting. The story did not mention if he raped his adopted daughter, 9.

This is not just rape but pedophilia ? and pederasty.

How in the world ? why in the world ? did adoption agencies give this man 4 children? That is the story that officials in Ohio need to ferret out as they send this pimp-rapist-pedophile to prison along with at least two of his customers.

I am sure that there are heterosexual couples who have done the same thing. That does not lessen the evil in this case.

TROY, Ohio (AP) ? A 10-year-old boy shook when asked about being prostituted to two other men by an adoptive father who regularly had sex with him, according to police, who said the boy was fearful of talking because he didn?t want to be taken from his home or separated from his new siblings.

The adoptive father has been charged with raping three boys in his care and compelling prostitution by hiring the 10-year-old out for sex. He and two other men remained in jail Thursday on rape charges.

Federal and local law enforcement officials said they?re widening the investigation into child sexual exploitation allegations against the father, who worked out of his home as an insurance claims adjuster. His name is being withheld by The Associated Press to protect the children?s identities.

Troy police said they impounded the father?s truck and seized four laptops from the home and a video camera and two wooden paddles from the master bedroom.

School officials said the man had recently withdrawn the three adopted children from school, saying he would home school them. A neighbor said he had no idea anything lurid might be going on in the home.

?You don?t know what goes on inside people?s homes,? said neighbor Ed Rogers, who had lived across the street from the man the past five years in a neighborhood lined with single-story ranch homes, typical in this working class city of 25,000 people about 20 miles north of Dayton. ?I?ll never look at that house the same way again. I?ll just look at it with sickness.?

The man at the center of the investigation is a longtime Troy resident who had been involved in a local youth basketball program. Police Capt. Chris Anderson said police so far haven?t found any signs of any inappropriate behavior with other children, even as calls poured in from worried parents.

?Shock and disbelief,? Anderson said of the community?s reaction.

Rogers and his wife, Sherry, said the man was something of a loner but would chit-chat when out mowing his lawn or when the kids were playing outside. Sherry Rogers recalled Thursday that his blinds were usually drawn shut at his home, a few blocks from an elementary school.

Police said they had hadn?t found any records of past criminal charges against the man. He had adopted three children, including a 9-year-old girl, and was in the processing of adopting the fourth who lived with him.

The children came from Texas, where state officials said Thursday they have been reviewing their records but had found nothing out of the ordinary or outside of procedures, which include background checks, and parental training.

?We?re sick about the results, but it?s not that the process was not followed,? said Patrick Crimmins, spokesman for the Texas family services agency. ?This appears to be a tragic but isolated incident.?

Ohio children?s services officials said they were also reviewing the adoptions, handled through a private agency certified by the state. Ohio spokesman Ben Johnson said the adoptive father was first certified as a foster parent in Miami County in 2005. He said Ohio and Texas officials were in communication about the case.

The case comes as Ohio Gov. John Kasich and Attorney General Mike DeWine have made investigating human trafficking and exploitation of minors a priority.

?This is a horrible situation,? DeWine said. ?It?s always shocking whenever you have children who are abused, and when children are sexually abused ? this is so reprehensible.?

An undercover detective in Franklin County, part of a state task force, talked online with the adoptive father, who said he would arrange sex with a 10-year-old boy, Troy police said. He had been led to the adoptive father by another man who had posted a Craigslist ad wanting ?taboo? sex, police said.

The adoptive father was going to meet the undercover detective at a McDonald?s in a nearby city, but police moved in two days before the scheduled meeting, according to records. They confronted the man with text messages and online communications about arranging sex with the boy, police said in a case report filed in court.

Federal and state prosecutors and investigators and police from three Ohio cities were meeting to discuss how to proceed. The FBI said it was pursuing federal sexual exploitation charges.

The adoptive father was being held on $800,000 bond Thursday. The Miami County public defender?s office didn?t return a message.

Jason Zwick, 29, of the Dayton suburb of Beavercreek was being held in Miami County on a rape charge and $500,000 bond. A message was left for his attorney. Patrick Rieder, 31, was charged with four counts of child rape, the Montgomery County prosecutor?s office said. Rieder was being held Thursday without bond in Montgomery County. No attorney information for him was immediately available.

The Montgomery County prosecutor on Thursday also charged the adoptive father with one count of child rape and four counts of complicity to commit child rape, based on an allegation of sexual assault in Rieder?s Dayton home. Prosecutor?s spokesman Greg Flannagan declined to discuss details of the new charges, filed in addition to the earlier Miami County charges.

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. (AP) ? It didn't take long for Tiger Woods to go on the attack in his first trip to the Honda Classic in nearly 20 years. But he was in the press room, not on the golf course.

His road to the Masters is not off to a smooth start.

After closing out 2011 with a birdie-birdie finish to win the Chevron World Challenge against an 18-man field, there were high hopes for Woods going into the new season. And the way he has hit the ball, there is reason for optimism.

But he failed to close out a win in Abu Dhabi with a share of the 54-hole lead against Robert Rock. In the second-to-last group at Pebble Beach while paired with Phil Mickelson, he closed with a 75. The putter is getting attention, especially after missing a 5-footer on the last hole to get eliminated in the second round of the Match Play Championship.

And now, excerpts from Hank Haney's book on his six years as Woods' swing coach are starting to be released.

So when he was asked about the relentless scrutiny of his swing, his putting, just about everything, Woods fired the first volley.

"Yeah, I know," he said. "I think you're one of the guys that does that, too."

There was nervous laughter before Woods continued.

"It's part of who I am and what I've accomplished," he said. "I think it would have been probably similar if Jack (Nicklaus) was probably in my generation. Didn't quite have the media scrutiny that they do now. And it's just a different deal and I know that a lot of players don't get the same analysis with their games that I do. But it's been like that since I turned pro."

When questions turned to the book, Woods grew testy.

Haney's book, "The Big Miss," is scheduled for release March 27, the week before the Masters. Golf Digest on Tuesday began to release excerpts through its tablet applications, and in one of them, Haney details Woods' fascination with the military, particularly the Navy SEALs.

"I was beginning to realize that his sentiment ran deep, and that as incredible as it seemed, Tiger was seriously considering becoming a Navy SEAL," Haney wrote, referring to the summer of 2007. "I didn't know how he'd go about it, but when he talked about, it was clear that he had a plan. After finding out that the Navy SEAL age limit is 28, I asked Tiger about his being too old to join. 'It's not a problem,' he said. 'They're making a special age exemption for me.'"

When asked about the book, Woods said his disappointment with Haney hasn't changed. When asked his reaction to the excerpt, Woods replied, "Well, I've already talked about it."

His agent, Mark Steinberg, said in a statement Tuesday afternoon that Haney engaged in "armchair psychology" that was "ridiculous."

"Because of his father, it's no secret that Tiger has always had high respect for the military, so for Haney to twist that admiration into something negative is disrespectful," Steinberg said.

Woods' father, Earl, was part of the U.S. Army's special forces.

The news conference at PGA National turned awkward when Alex Miceli, a Golfweek senior writer and contributor to Golf Channel, asked Woods if he considered being a Navy SEAL at the height of his career.

"I've already talked about everything in the book. I've already commented on everything, Alex," Woods said.

"Then I must have missed you answering that question," Miceli replied.

"Well, I've already commented on the book. Is that in the book? Is it in the book?" Woods said.

Miceli replied he had not seen the book.

"You're a beauty, you know that?" Woods said, forcing a smile.

Miceli said Steinberg's statement suggested something was wrong with the excerpt and he wanted to know if it was true. Woods paused for a moment, said with indifference, "I don't know," then stared at him for nearly five seconds and said, "Have a good day."

It was a change from the way he handled a news conference in December 2010. Tom Callahan had written in "His Father's Son" that he would not have been surprised if Woods had followed his father into the military. Woods was asked that day where Callahan came up with that notion.

"Well, I've always wanted to become a SEAL," Woods said back then. "That's something that I told my dad from the very get-go ? either I'm going to become a professional golfer or I'm going to go become a Navy SEAL."

On Wednesday, Woods worked hard to contain his anger.

Even in questions related to golf, such as how he plays the Masters with the lead and his pursuit of the Nicklaus record, Woods rushed through his answers. He did not look as comfortable as he had been in dealings with the media earlier this year.

He goes onto the course Thursday at PGA National, a course he has not seen since he was 14 and lost on the last day of the PGA Junior Championship to 17-year-old Chris Couch, who went on to win in New Orleans in 2006 for his lone tour victory.

And while Woods looks capable of winning any time he plays ? depending on the putter ? he no longer is considered the favorite. That role belongs to 22-year-old Rory McIlroy, who broke several of Woods' records in winning the U.S. Open last summer and who could go to No. 1 in the world if he were to win.

Also in the field is Lee Westwood, No. 3 in the world, coming off a semifinal loss to McIlroy last week in the Match Play.

Forget The Holiday Rush: Mobile App Downloads Did Better In January Than December

iPhone-4s-AppsMobile app marketing firm Fiksu has new data today on the effect the post-holiday rush on mobile devices had on the number of apps downloaded throughout the month of January. In short, downloads skyrocketed last month, even beating December's numbers. iOS downloads reached an all-time high last month, the firm says, up 12% from its previous high in December, when the devices were originally unwrapped by their new owners. This trend seems to indicate that the fervor to load up a new phone or tablet with apps doesn't just result in a temporary spike - the increased activity is sustained over weeks (and perhaps months) into the future.

Humongous asteroid could strike Earth in 2040

The 460-foot wide asteroid 2011 AG5 could be on a collision course with our planet.?But the odds are very small, say scientists.?

Scientists are keeping a close eye on a big asteroid that may pose an impact threat to Earth in a few decades.

The space rock, which is called 2011 AG5, is about 460 feet (140 meters) wide. It may come close enough to Earth in 2040 that some researchers are calling for a discussion about?how to deflect it.

Talk about the asteroid was on the agenda during the 49th session of the Scientific and Technical Subcommittee of the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS), held earlier this month in Vienna.

A UN Action Team on near-Earth objects (NEOs) noted the asteroid?s repeat approaches to Earth and the possibility ? however remote ? that 2011 AG5 might?smack into our planet?28 years from now.

The object was discovered in January 2011 by Mount Lemmon Survey observers in Tucson, Ariz. While scientists have a good bead on the space rock's size, its mass and compositional makeup are unknown at present. [The 7 Strangest Asteroids in the Solar System]

An asteroid desktop exercise

"2011 AG5 is the object which currently has the highest chance of?impacting the Earth?? in 2040. However, we have only observed it for about half an orbit, thus the confidence in these calculations is still not very high," said Detlef Koschny of the European Space Agency?s Solar System Missions Division in Noordwijk, The Netherlands.

"In our Action Team 14 discussions, we thus concluded that it not necessarily can be called a ?real? threat. To do that, ideally, we should have at least one, if not two, full orbits observed," Koschny told SPACE.com.

Koschny added that the Action Team did recommend to the NEO Working Group of COPUOS to use 2011 AG5 as a "desktop exercise" and link ongoing studies to the asteroid.

"We are currently also in the process of making institutions like the?European Southern Observatory?aware of this object," Koschny said. "We hope to make the point that this object deserves the allocation of some special telescope time."

Non-zero impact probability

The near-Earth asteroid 2011 AG5 currently has an impact probability of 1 in 625 for Feb. 5, 2040, said Donald Yeomans, head of the Near-Earth Object Observations Program at NASA?s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif.

This impact probability isn't set in stone, however. So far, researchers have been able to watch the asteroid for just a short time ? the first nine months of 2011 ? and the numbers may change after further observation, Yeomans told SPACE.com. [Photos: Asteroids in Deep Space]
